Determinism
In Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), determinism is the belief that a person's behavior occurs as a result of specific environmental variables rather than happening by chance.
Example: If a child consistently tantrums when denied access to a toy, determinism would suggest the tantrum is not a random act, but influenced by the environmental condition of being denied the desired item.
