Autoclitic behavior
In Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), autoclitic behavior refers to a type of verbal behavior that modifies another verbal response, adding precision, clarification, or context to the speaker’s message.
Example: When a child says, “I think it’s under the table,” the word “think” acts as an autoclitic. It changes the listener’s understanding of how certain the child is about the location, qualifying the main statement and influencing its interpretation.
